DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES

The Department of Science and Humanities is driven by its aspiration to create, develop and uphold a conductive teaching learning environment that promotes scientific temper. The Constitution of India is one of the few that requires the spirit of inquiry and scientific temper as a foundational aspect of society. I feel honored and privileged to lead a department that strives to build a strong foundation of basic sciences upon which engineering education is built. Our basic science classes strengthen their conceptual understanding of basic science fundamentals, and our English classes are a wonderful platform to practice the language. Besides offering theory courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English, all the four departments are actively involved in research. Our professors continuously ‘learn, unlearn and relearn’ and pass the benefits of doing so to the students. A spirit of inquiry, the basic trait of scientific temper and engineering career is cultivated and sustained though out by innovative teaching methods. While the hands on experience gained through our laboratory sessions offer them a feel of engineering career , our club activities , yoga sessions and one on one mentoring sessions educate and prepare them for the physical , moral ,social, ethical responsibilities that come along with any engineering career. The department is in the noble mission of shaping young minds and I welcome you all to join us for a mutually rewarding experience.
