Physics Lab
Physics as an entity has the credit of making significant contributions through advances in new technologies that arise from theoretical breakthroughs. The exposure to various experimental techniques and innovative lab sessions will create opportunities for our Engineering students to emerge with elevated standards and befit them for higher professional degrees. The fundamental and application oriented laboratory experiments in Physics are a major breakthrough for the Engineering students. Our Physics lab was established in the year 2001. The laboratory is well equipped with adequate major and minor equipments as per the AICTE norms and Anna University regulations.
Chemistry Lab
Chemistry laboratory was established in the year 2001,right during the inception of the year, spanning over all area of 184.27sqm and equipped with state of the art instruments, it caters to the need of all the first year B.E/B.Tech students. A batch of 60 students can individually perform their experiments at a time. Lab is equipped with sufficient number of instruments and glasswares as per the curriculum requirement of Anna University, Chennai. In addition to this, sophisticated instruments that can be utilized for various project and research works related to ground water and effluent water characterization, polymer synthesis and characterization etc.Total Cost of the equipments available presently in the laboratory is Rs.4.5 lakhs. A rain water harvesting plant has been setup near Chemistry laboratory with a capacity of 12,000 litres. The water collected is utilized for doing Volumetric analysis experiments.
Communication Lab
The communication Lab is directly
under the control of the Department
English, and it is a well maintained
Lab facility for the whole body of the
student community for developing
their communicative skills, which is
essential for their career as well as
personal growth and socializing
skills. Situated on the Second Floor
of the L-Block of VCET, it is a haven of neatly maintained and well furnished systems that can give
individual training to a batch of students who may even exceed 70 in numbers. A systems support
engineer is always available, and a battery of UPS units give a pleasant and uninterrupted learning
atmosphere where the students as well their guiding faculty can have numerous avenues to develop
listening and speaking skills and take on-line tests.
