Inauguration of Standards Club in Association with BIS

Velalar College of Engineering and Technology has inaugurated “Standards Club” in association with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), National Standards Body of India, (Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Govt of India). The club was inaugurated by Ms.Hemalatha Panicker, Scientist D, Bureau of Indian Standards, on 23rd December 2021 at VCET.

The main objective of this club is to provide learning opportunities in the field of quality and standardization through mutual collaboration in the form of a standard club in an educational institute.

Mr. Hemalatha Panicker & Mr. Rajeev Appukuttan SPO,Bureau of Indian Standards,Coimbatore had delivered Session. They have explained the purpose of the formation of a club, various activities, and the use of related standards formulated by BIS. They further emphasized on the standards club would indeed serve as a strong platform for gaining knowledge on standards.
